The Message of Hope

The message of hope that Christ brings is made possible through the atonement. Christ’s mortal ministry and sacrifice made it possible that we can return and live with Him again. But how can we find that hope today? The gospel of Jesus Christ offers that. Each of us, if we repent and come unto Him can find hope and peace.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf said, “Hope is a gift of the Spirit. It is a hope that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of His Resurrection, we shall be raised unto life eternal and this because of our faith in the Savior. This kind of hope is both a principle of promise as well as a commandment, and, as with all commandments, we have the responsibility to make it an active part of our lives and overcome the temptation to lose hope. Hope in our Heavenly Father’s merciful plan of happiness leads to peace, mercy, rejoicing, and gladness. The hope of salvation is like a protective helmet; it is the foundation of our faith and an anchor to our souls.” (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The Infinite Power of Hope,” Ensign, Nov 2008, 21–24)
Each of us has the opportunity, through faith, to come unto Christ. Each of us is a chosen Son or Daughter of Christ, and we are all part of His Plan of Happiness. He loves and wants each of us to be happy and live with Him forever so he brings the message of hope. We need to never ever give up hope. We need to strive to be the best we can be, and always remember our ultimate goal-to strive to live the way we should live so that we can return again to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
